Amy Bednarchik
Amy Bednarchik is a Los Angeles native and a Michigan transplant who had the benefit of growing up witnessing the conditions of farming in CA and experiencing a close relationship with the food it produces. As she entered her career path, she quickly fell in love with food production management, but also had opportunities to learn from other industries she entered such as automotive, transportation and healthcare. While on her path to become a Registered Nurse, she witnessed firsthand the disservice that improper nutrition has on communities and the steps that need to happen to make nutritious food both available and cost effective. Experiencing the inefficiencies of our healthcare system inspired her to get back into food production where she felt she could make more of an impactful difference. As a leader who leans on her background in food safety, efficiency, and cost management, the fit into indoor agriculture was natural. She is passionate about the industry and where we need to evolve to see progress in our food system. In addition to holding her MI-RN, she is HACCP certified and has led Planted to being HGAP+ certified, Kosher certified and passed all other food safety audits that have been required for entrance to retail markets.
