State of the CEA Industry Update: CEA Market Growth

Ten years ago, Cornell University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute proposed that the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) invest $5 million to create the of the Greenhouse Lighting and Systems Engineering (GLASE) consortium for greenhouse technology research, education, and workforce development.

The founding GLASE researchers forecasted CEA market growth in New York State, industry-wide horticultural lighting and controls technology development, and the adoption and impact of new technologies across the controlled environment agriculture (CEA) industry.

This year, GLASE researchers revisited these expectations and gathered feedback from the Industry Advisory Board to create a State of the CEA Industry Update for not only New York but the entire United States.

GLASE is sharing these insights in a three-part series focusing on the evolution of the CEA market.
