Sollum Technologies Partners with Roelands Plant Farms in Ontario

Sollum Technologies announced its partnership with Roelands Plant Farms in Ontario on October 9, 2024. A leading propagator in the area, Roelands propagates peppers, cucumbers, and grafted tomatoes. This collaboration will retrofit Roelands’ current high pressure sodium (HPS) lighting fixtures with Sollum’s LED grow lights to enhance production.

Established in 2013, Roelands has served as a cornerstone in Ontario’s agricultural sector for more than a decade. As one of the three top propagators in the region, the company wants to take advantage of cutting-edge technology to ensure efficient plant growth.

“Choosing Sollum’s state-of-the-art solution was a strategic decision driven by its crop steering and unlimited multi-zoning capabilities, which is crucial for our propagation needs,” said Edward Thoren, head grower at Roelands Plant Farms. “What sets Sollum apart is a fully programmable solution. Their unique approach to precision agriculture allows us to tailor growing conditions specifically for our crops, in each zone of the greenhouse, using the same, easy-to-use technology. This differentiation from other options available in the market is a game changer for us, enhancing both our efficiency and crop quality.”

“We are pleased to partner with Roelands Plant Farms, where the team shares our dedication to adopting the most advanced technologies in the industry to advance further cultivation techniques and help market fresh produce locally,” said Senior Sales Director Nick Occhionero at Sollum Technologies. “Our team of agronomists, engineers and technicians looks forward to supporting the Roelands team in managing Sollum’s flexible and precise light management, from planning to harvesting.
