IFPA: New Ag Innovators Announced for the 2024 Fresh Field Catalyst Accelerator Event

On May 7, 2024, the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) announced 12 companies that will join the Fresh Field Catalyst cohort for this year’s accelerator event. In June, these companies will tour several businesses in California to learn about their supply chain challenges and offer a solution. The group will reconvene in August for a “Demo Day” to showcase their proposed solutions. Four of these companies are CEA-focused: Farm-ng, Innov8.ag, Mirai Solar and Neolithics.

Farm-ng

Farm-ng uses robotics technology to unite engineers with experts in agriculture and ecology. Led by co-CEOs Ethan Rublee and Claire Delaney, the company collaborates with large and small growers, developers, AI researchers and aerospace organizations to help them achieve their goals. Its technology simplifies a wide range of projects, from ventures in NASA to keeping a steady food supply across the nation.

Innov8.ag

Partnered with Microsoft, Innov8.ag lets growers make informed decisions both on and off the farm. The company uses data aggregation, analysis and visualization to help growers make actionable decisions regarding yield quality and quantity. To accomplish this, the company offers machine learning and AI-based insights.

Neolithics

With its “Neolithic Light” solution, the company helps growers improve food safety, increase value and lower distribution costs. Neolithic Light uses advanced optical imaging technology to identify specific attributes in fruits and vegetables. The company evaluates produce grade and shelf-life prediction with this technology.

Mirai Solar

Mirai Solar helps greenhouse growers control sunlight for optimal growth. The company does this through its Mirai Screen, which harnesses the energy of sunlight to generate electricity and transmit the remaining light. As a result, it enables Zero Energy Greenhouses by maximizing crop yield and electricity generation at the same time.
