Learning Opportunity: Greenhouse Training Course from AmericanHort
April 2, 2025 AmericanHort launched an online program to provide technical training for greenhouse growers. The organization’s Greenhouse Section Grower Certification course is designed for new growers, existing growers, greenhouse technicians, and employees to sharpen their skills and work more efficiently.
The program consists of 15 classes broken into three modules:
- Substrate, nutrition, and growth management
- Pest, disease, and water quality management
- Optimizing greenhouse efficiency in lighting, quality control, and business.
The course is online and self-paced. Once participants complete each module, they will take a post-test as a “checkpoint” to identify areas they need to study more. At the end of the course, participants must pass a final exam. Those who pass the exam will be recognized as “AmericanHort Greenhouse Certified”: the certification is valid for two years and can be renewed.
This is the second installment of AmericanHort’s greenhouse training series, following the launch of its Greenhouse Technician Certification course in 2023.
