Mary Staak is a Risk Management Specialist with the Risk Management Agency/USDA in Raleigh, NC. Mary is originally from Georgia and attended the University of Georgia studying Agronomy and Horticulture. She obtained her Master’s Degree from Duke University in Interdisciplinary. Mary has worked in the area of crop insurance since 1980 and focuses primarily on perennial tree crops, grapes, vegetable crops, and diverse farming operations. The Controlled Environment program is under her purview and she is encouraged by possibilities of this new program.
