Dr. Eshwar Ravishankar is an Assistant Professor – Plant Science at Cal Poly Pomona. His work has employed computational models to characterize climate-specific controlled environment agriculture (CEA) operation. He has also characterized pathways to achieve net zero energy greenhouses. He has published his work in top interdisciplinary journals such as Joule, and Energy & Environmental Science His work has also received mention in Greenhouse Management, and PV Magazine. Currently, he is conducting research targeting workforce development in controlled environment agriculture through the development of digital twins and virtual reality tools. A web-tool development for assessing greenhouse energy and vertical farms are in progress.
