Beth Farrell joined the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in 2010 and is currently serving as an Agricultural Programs Specialist.  In this role, she is making contributions to a broad range of activities to strengthen and enhance agriculture in the state.  Beth works with North Carolina tobacco farmers and industry regarding Good Agricultural Practices, policy items, production compliance, public relations, governmental relations, international and domestic marketing.  She serves on the Board of Directors of the Tobacco Growers Association of North Carolina and was recognized by TGANC with their 2020 Distinguished Service Award.

A native of Piney Creek, NC, Beth developed a deep passion and appreciation for agriculture on her grandparents’ dairy and burley tobacco farms.  Prior to joining NCDA&CS, she worked for 8 years at the N.C. Agricultural Foundation, focusing on 4-H and Extension fundraising efforts statewide.  Outside of the office, Beth keeps a very busy schedule serving in leadership positions for various professional and charitable organizations in her community and across the state.  There are too many to list.  In 2022 she elected to the Wake County Soil and Water Conservation District as a Supervisor.  Beth holds a B.S. in Animal Science with a minor in Poultry Science from N.C. State University.  Outside of the office, she and her husband, Kevin, are own and operate Pack House Farm, a pick-your-own blueberry and blackberry farm in Apex, NC.
